Bianca gives talks on mucus rheology at AERC and SoftComp

Bianca Hazt (PhD student, EPSRC SOFI2-CDT, Reckitt) presented her work on the shear and extensional rheological properties of mucin samples at the Bio-rheology, Medicine, Living and Active Matter symposium of the 2026 Annual European Rheology Conference. The conference took place in Kraków, Poland, from 14 to 17 April 2026. Her oral presentation was entitled “Stretching mucins: revealing the complex rheology of natural polymer networks”.
She also received a fully funded place from the SoftComp/EUSMI consortium to present her work on the 2026 SoftComp Annual Meeting, which took place in Zakopane, Poland, from 18 to 21 May 2026. Her talk "The complex rheological behaviour of lactoferrin-mucin systems" was presented in the Food Science session.
