Welcome Qi and Yanhui - Visiting PhD Students to Sarkar Lab

Date

A big welcome to Yanhui Zhang (left in the photo) and Qi Wang (right in the photo) to our team from China as Visiting PhD Students for a year.

Yanhui is a PhD student in the College of Food Science and Nutritional Engineering at China Agricultural University, China, and a one-year visiting researcher with us funded by CSC (Chinese Scholarship Council). Her research will focus on the oral processing properties of oleogel-based high internal phase emulsions. She will explore the characteristics of the oral thin film between orally mimicked surfaces to capture the essence of texture perception of high internal phase Pickering emulsions.

Qi is a PhD student at Zhejiang Gongshang University, majoring in Applied Chemistry and Food Engineering and a one-year visiting researcher with us funded by CSC (Chinese Scholarship Council). His research will focus on elucidating the underlying friction mechanisms that dictate the sensory characteristics of various types of particle suspensions, employing tribological setup tailored to mimic oral physiological features.

Welcome once again to both Yanhui and Qi for their smooth visiting research at Leeds.
